THE HOT TIP

HANDS ON

A second life for those used hand embroidery dish towels. Turn those creative handworks of art of the 40's into decorative pillows for your kitchen chairs, banquettes, or benches.
    Materials Needed:
    Dish towel with embroidery design
    Fabrics: stripe and solid color
    Scissors
    Sewing machine
    Welt cord
    Stuffing

    Here's how:
Cut dish towel to desired size.
Cut pattern (stripe) fabric for back and ruffle.
Cut solid fabric for welt and cover cord.
Gather ruffle, attach with welt to face of pillow.
Sew back to this leaving an opening.
Turn inside out and stuff with filler
    Hand stitch opening.
